Relaxation Massage: North Beach

Relaxation massage is its own discipline, not a "lighter remedial" or "easier deep tissue." It's a deliberate use of long, flowing, rhythmic strokes to downshift the nervous system, reduce overall muscle tone, and create a sustained sense of calm that you carry out of the room with you.

What Relaxation Massage Is For

• Stress reduction and nervous system reset
• Sleep support, particularly for chronic insomnia or disturbed sleep
• General muscle tone reduction without targeting specific issues
• Pre- or post-event wellness (weddings, holidays, milestones)
• Maintenance wellbeing: monthly self-care sessions

What to Expect

Quieter, dimmer room. Long, flowing strokes across the whole body. No deep digging into specific muscles. The pressure is firm enough to feel present but never confronting. You should feel yourself genuinely letting go.

60 minutes is the standard length. 90 minutes gives the experience more time to deepen and is worth it if relaxation is your primary goal.

Relaxation vs Remedial

Both have value, and they serve different purposes. Remedial is targeted problem-solving, diagnosing and treating specific tension or pain patterns. Relaxation is whole-body downshifting, not trying to "fix" anything specific, but creating an experience your nervous system needs. If you genuinely don't have a specific complaint, relaxation is probably what you want.

Health fund rebates

Pure relaxation massage isn't typically rebatable by private health funds, but if any remedial work is included during the session (most Therapists naturally do), the session may be claimable. We'll let you know what applies when you book.
