Pregnancy Massage: North Beach

Pregnancy massage designed for expecting mums. Side-lying positioning, appropriate pressure, and qualified Therapists who understand pregnancy-related pain.

Growing a baby puts significant load on your body. Lower back tightness, pelvic discomfort, leg cramps, swelling, disturbed sleep. These are common, but they don't need to define your pregnancy. Our pregnancy massage is designed specifically for expecting mums: safe positioning, appropriate pressure for each stage, and Therapists who understand the changes your body is going through.

What Pregnancy Massage Helps With

  • Lower back and pelvic discomfort: common as the baby grows and posture changes
  • Leg cramps and swelling: particularly in the third trimester
  • Neck and shoulder tension from postural changes and disturbed sleep
  • Sciatica and referred leg pain
  • Hip and round ligament discomfort
  • Improved sleep quality
  • General relaxation and stress relief

Is Pregnancy Massage Safe?

When delivered by a qualified Therapist with appropriate training, pregnancy massage is considered appropriate throughout the second and third trimesters. We use side-lying positioning with supportive bolsters (no lying on your back or front past the first trimester) and adjust pressure to suit each stage of pregnancy. We don't massage certain areas (including specific acupressure points) until full-term.

What to Expect

Your session begins with a brief intake: your stage of pregnancy, any complications or concerns, what's bothering you most. The treatment itself is delivered in side-lying with pillows supporting your bump, back, and between your knees. Pressure is moderate and adjustable. You're in control of what feels right. Most clients book 60 minutes; 90 minutes if you'd like more comprehensive work.

When to Start

Most Therapists prefer to start from the second trimester (week 13+), particularly if this is your first pregnancy massage. If you're in the first trimester or have a high-risk pregnancy, please check with your obstetrician or GP first, and let us know when you book so we can confirm appropriateness.
